Philippine Centre Canada – MigARTion Project

Ottawa (Wednesday, May 10, 2023) – The Philippine Centre Canada in collaboration with Alvin Erasga Tolentino present KAPIT-SINING, the Ottawa presentation of a Canada-wide community migrant arts project MigARTion. This collaborative project engages the Filipino-Canadian community through art practices such as dancing, writing, singing, painting and acting, as a social intervention to marginalization and intercultural alienation. Philippine Centre Canada is proud to host this event as part of our series promoting mental health through art and music.

The project will take place in the Normandin Room at Saint Paul University, 233 Main Street, Ottawa, on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 9:30am – 6:00pm.

MigARTion prioritizes serving persons of colour, migrant workers, new immigrants, and youth. This project invites individuals who wish to create critical and creative spaces where professional artists and the migrant community can create art together in a shared environment of planning, integration and eventual execution of the project. It is a process that aims to nurture the everyday practice of criticality and empathy.

As space is limited, interested participants are encouraged to register by following this link:
