PCC receives Most Influential Community Organization Award 2025

The Philippine Centre Canada (PCC) is proud to share that it has been recognized with

the Golden Balangay Award for Most Influential Community Organization. This award is

one of the highest forms of recognition for Filipino organizations in Canada, celebrating

the values of leadership, service, and the promotion of Filipino culture and identity.

For more than two decades, PCC has stood as a cornerstone for strengthening the

Filipino community and promoting the Filipino spirit and contributions in various fields in Ottawa and across Canada. From cultural celebrations, youth, seniors’, and

newcomers’ programs to partnerships with other community organizations, and

professional networking, PCC has created spaces where Filipinos can feel at home,

grow in confidence, and strengthen their connections to both their heritage and

Canadian society.

This recognition from the Golden Balangay Foundation is not only an honour for the

organization, but also a reflection of the countless hours given by volunteers, leaders,

and members who have carried PCC’s mission forward since its founding. It is also a

tribute to the trust of the Filipino community in Canada, whose participation and support

have allowed PCC to thrive and remain relevant throughout the years.

Receiving the Golden Balangay Award is both a milestone and a reminder of PCC’s

enduring responsibility. The organization remains committed to advancing unity,

celebrating the richness of Filipino heritage, and inspiring the next generation to carry

forward the pride of their identity.

As PCC Chair Lota Bertulfo expressed:
