Based in Ottawa, Meryenda Food Truck (@meryenda_snack) was opened in May of 2015 by founders Mark Coronel and Paul Castanos.
Mark Coronel has 10+ years working in the food industry most of them as a sous chef of a popular restaurant chain while Paul Castanos has cooked primarily in small kitchens focusing on different types of cuisines like Asian Fusion, West African, etc.
With this combined restaurant experience and their shared love of Filipino Food the two chefs finally decided that it was time to go into business for themselves. Not only can they cook the food they love, they can also introduce their cuisine to the Ottawa community, a community that is unfamiliar with Filipino food and its flavors.
The idea behind “Meryenda” is to provide accessibility to their guest with tasty and wholesome Filipino food any time of the day. Their menu is based on classic Filipino flavors and ingredients but with their own personal twist.
