PCC lechon at the 2018 Independence picnic

Once again, PCC continued it’s participation at the annual Philippine Independence picnic. Like in previous years, PCC entered a lechon float in the Parada ng Lechon contest. The theme for this year’s PCC’s lechon float depicted the meeting of the Malays with the Ati (Aetas) on the island of Panay which resulted in the sharing of the island by both groups without conflict. Like our Malay forebears, Filipinos come to Canada not to conquer but to contribute to Canadian society thus enriching everyone’s life. The PCC entry won first place in the contest. For lunch, PCC shared two lechons with the community.
