Women’s Month Celebration partnered with the Immigrant Women Services Ottawa
In commemorating International Women’s Day and the Women’s Month of March, the Philippine Centre Canada partnered with the Immigrant Women Services Ottawa in organizing a gathering of women from different communities – Asian, African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, European – to celebrate being women and women’s contributions to Canadian society. Held last March 6th, 2024 at the YMCA community hall in Ottawa, the communities in Ottawa came together to honor and celebrate women, each group representing their unique culture through traditional music, outfits, dance, cuisine, and art. It was an evening filled with cultural performances, engaging discussions, and the opportunity to connect with women from different backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for the diverse cultures in Ottawa. The event was a resounding success and a beautiful celebration of multiculturalism.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of women from all walks of life, and it highlighted the importance of celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion within our communities. As we look back on this memorable celebration, we are grateful for the opportunity to come together, share our stories, and support one another.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this memorable celebration. Your presence and participation made the event truly special, and we are grateful for your support in honoring and celebrating women from all walks of life. Stay tuned for future events by following us on social media, and let’s continue to come together to celebrate diversity and empower women in our communities.
The PCC would also like to thank the IWSO for a fruitful partnership and to Canadian Heritage for its funding support to PCC that made this partnership and celebrating International Women’s Day possible.
