Ruel Jimenez

Co-Vice Chairperson

Recently elected Co-Vice Chairperson, Ruel Jimenez has an impressive background and a passion for giving back to his community. Born in Pasay City and raised in Laguna, Ruel later settled in Las Pinas City before emigrating to Canada with his family in 2002. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Perpetual Help-Rizal, which he obtained in 1995.

Ruel’s professional career spans over two decades, during which he has gained valuable experience in the field of information technology. From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a Systems Analyst/Programmer in a Freight Forwarding Company. He then transitioned to an IT Specialist role in a Cable TV Company from 1997 to 2002. Ruel’s dedication and expertise led him to work at Health Canada as an IT Support Technician in Infrastructure and operations since 2002. Prior to this role, he served as an IT Service Technician at HardRock Casino Ottawa from 2017 to 2021.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ruel actively engages in various community initiatives. He has devoted his time and skills to organizations such as ANCOP Ottawa, a registered charity that supports Filipinos in need. Through ANCOP’s Education Sponsorship, Shelter Program, Medical and Dental Program, and Calamity Support program, Ruel helps improve the lives of fellow Filipinos. Additionally, he has volunteered for groups like Shepherds of Good Hope and Ottawa Run. Currently, Ruel is a member of Couples for Christ Ottawa, where he serves as a Couple Coordinator of Singles for Christ.

Ruel’s commitment to his community and his wealth of experience make him the perfect candidate for the position of Co-Vice Chairperson. His involvement in various organizations and his dedication to helping others exemplify his passion for making a positive impact. With Ruel’s leadership skills and extensive background in technology and community service, he will undoubtedly excel in serving in this new role.
