Meet The Board
Marion Maceda Villanueva is a long time community development advocate. With an undergraduate degree in Social Work and a graduate degree in Community Development from the University of the Philippines, she with her husband Johnny (Antonio Villanueva) and two daughters came to Canada in 1985, and in 1989 to Ottawa. Working first with NGOs in Toronto and Ottawa, she was posted to Manila and Davao, Philippines (2001-13) and Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean (2015-17) as Director of multiple Canada-funded projects focused on helping to build the capacity of local governments.
Now a Lola and Lolo of two, Marion and Johnny are back in Ottawa since 2017 working as Director of Programs at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. She has always been an active member of the Filipino-Canadian community in Ottawa and passionate about a united and empowered community that supports fellow Pinoys, is proud of the Filipino heritage and is well-recognized and ably contributing to building a better Canada. On the first Board of Directors of the PCC in 1999, Marion was re-elected to the Board in 2018 and took over as acting chairperson for 9 months in 2020.
