Jerica Gelle Mariano currently works in the House of Commons with a dual role as the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of the Liberal Research Bureau and Outreach, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisor leading the Filipino Community and Disability Inclusion file.  In addition, Jerica has advocated and helped organize for the Prime Minister, Ministers, and Members of Parliament to partake in various Filipino outreach opportunities in and outside Canada.

She has over six years of experience in public service as a political staffer. She has always been a champion of the Filipino community in Canada, particularly to the federal government being one of now only fourteen Filipino Canadian political staffers out of hundreds in the Parliament Hill.

She was born in the Philippines, migrated to Abu Dhabi, U.A.E at the age of eight, and immigrated to Canada in 2013. Like many newcomers elsewhere in Canada, she had her share of adversities, including but not limited to the need to go back to school because her educational background was not recognized in Canada. Still, her determination and commitment to success have helped her break walls.
