Seniors, Caregivers and Frontliners Care Support Project

In 2021, the Philippine Centre Canada (PCC) through the support of the Canadian Red Cross and Employment and Social Development of Canada continues to reach out to the Filipino-Canadian community in Ottawa and nearby areas through its food and care package distribution. This February, there will be an additional 350 Salamat boxes food packages and hand hygiene kits for our vulnerable frontliners, seniors and caregivers. In addition to this, the PCC will be conducting eight (8) lively and fun virtual wellness and social activities from mid-February to mid-March.  Most of these activities will be held on weekends during this period.

From October to December 2020, the PCC was able to deliver 540 food and care packages to help recipient “kababayans” who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eleven (11) online activities that included virtual physical activities, interactive mind games and wellness talks were conducted with the participation of various members of the Filipino-Canadian community in Ottawa and Gatineau.
