PCC Statement on International Human Rights Day

December 10th is International Human Rights Day. Chosen by the United Nations as a day to commemorate the UN’s adoption of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This year, the theme of International Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.

As immigrants and migrants whose own country’s history has been marked by the tragedies of colonialism and exploitation, we recognize the need to promote these values of dignity, freedom, and justice. As we strive to support our growing community of Filipino-Canadians in the National Capital Region, we affirm our commitment to protecting, defending, and promoting the rights of all persons regardless of race, gender, abilities, socioeconomic status, and more.
