Meet The Team
About us
Kyrah Karish Lucaten Miranda She/Her/Hers
Hi, I'm Kyrah Miranda | Team Lead/Editor
Migrating to Canada at a young age, I experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs of adjusting to a new country. I struggled to find resources to support and guide me during this transition. Despite the challenges, this experience has taught me about the complexities of migration, education, mental health, and the value of diversity. I believe that this project can be a step towards providing better assistance for newcomers and those thinking about migrating to Ottawa, Canada.

Gerlino Dominic Furbeyre Tamayo He/Him/His
Hi, I'm Earl Tamayo | Editor
Having grown up in several countries throughout my life, I know how difficult it is to move to a completely new environment, let alone adjust to it. Letting go of familiar faces and places then saying hi to unfamiliarities is extremely challenging. I hope that this project will be of aid to those who have taken the courageous step of moving out of their comfort zones to immigrate into Canada, whether for new opportunities or other reasons.

Henry Renato Calasanz He/Him/They/Them
Hi, I'm Henry Calasanz | Treasurer
Hi, my name is Henry Renato. This project means a lot to me, as a 2nd generation immigrant I see the importance of the Filipino community in Canada everyday. I also grew up in a home where my mom held her own immigration law office, so I often saw first hand just how important it is for kababayans to help each other. Especially for new immigrants to Canada. I hope this project will serve as a welcoming embrace from the existing Filipino community in Canada for the new Filipino immigrants to Canada.
