Filipino-Canadian seniors learned more about how to stay healthy.

On February 24, 2024, the Philippine Centre Canada (PCC) in partnership with the Ottawa Valley

Filipino-Canadian Senior Citizens’ Association (OVFCSCA) organized a workshop on holistic healing. The was part of the “Healthy Aging for Filipino-Canadian Seniors: A Series of Learning Workshops” project, which is funded by the Employment and Social Development Canada through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

The Ms Katalin Minar, resource speaker, focused her presentation on Reflexology and Holistic Healing, including the Reiki approach.  The thirty-five seniors who attended were eager and enthusiastic to learn more about these alternative healing practices.  They learned about the principles of reflexology, how it can help alleviate various health issues, and how to incorporate holistic healing techniques into their daily routines. The workshop served as a reminder that traditional practices like reflexology and holistic healing have a place in modern healthcare, offering a holistic approach to well-being that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. Participants left the event feeling inspired and motivated to incorporate these practices into their own lives, thanks to the guidance and expertise of Katalin, a seasoned Naturopath, Reflexologist, and Tibetan Reiki Grand Master has over fifteen years of experience in the field. She has dedicated her career to combining modern western medical knowledge with ancient healing methods to provide holistic healing for her clients. She has achieved level 9 on the Tibetan Reiki scale, a milestone that takes over 10 years to reach, and is well-versed in spiritualism, astrology, and other alternative healing techniques.
