On February 24, 2024, the Philippine Centre Canada (PCC) in partnership with the Ottawa Valley
Filipino-Canadian Senior Citizens’ Association (OVFCSCA) organized a workshop on holistic healing. The was part of the “Healthy Aging for Filipino-Canadian Seniors: A Series of Learning Workshops” project, which is funded by the Employment and Social Development Canada through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
The Ms Katalin Minar, resource speaker, focused her presentation on Reflexology and Holistic Healing, including the Reiki approach. The thirty-five seniors who attended were eager and enthusiastic to learn more about these alternative healing practices. They learned about the principles of reflexology, how it can help alleviate various health issues, and how to incorporate holistic healing techniques into their daily routines. The workshop served as a reminder that traditional practices like reflexology and holistic healing have a place in modern healthcare, offering a holistic approach to well-being that addresses the mind, body, and spirit.
