Celebrating Filipino-Canadian Heritage Together — Royal Canadian Mint Coin Launch

The Royal Canadian Mint has officially launched the 2026 Celebrating Canada’s Diversity: Resilience and Unity silver and gold coins, recognizing and honouring the vibrant Filipino-Canadian community and its lasting contributions to Canada’s multicultural story.

Designed by internationally acclaimed Filipino-Canadian artist Bert Monterona, the commemorative coin brings together traditional Filipino symbolism and contemporary design elements. Featuring motifs such as the Sarimanok, symbols of unity and compassion, and a central mother-of-pearl element inspired by the Philippines’ rich cultural and natural heritage, the design reflects themes of resilience, community, and bayanihan.

This special release celebrates Filipino heritage while recognizing the strength, connection, and contributions of Filipino Canadians across generations.
